Halo Tournament Wrap Up

 

For this tournament we linked to Xboxs together.  Two pools of eight would battle it out in a free for all style matches.  The frag limit was set to five so these matches went quickly.  On the other hand every player was allowed to pick a map.  So as you look at the results the names across the top represent who's map was picked.  Down the sides are the players and their scores.  Scoring was as follows;  a 1st place finish would earn a player 5 points. 2nd place was worth 3 points. 3rd place was worth 2 points, and one point for 4th. (I will only list the points earned.)

Top four would advance from the prelim pools.  To move on to the quarter finals.

 

Pool 1

The most interesting thing to me about this pool was the race for 4th.  It came down to the last match, and even though Ernesto won the last match, Chris B was able to get a crucial second place. Do to the tie in an earlier round with David he was about to edge out Ernesto.

Quarter Finals

From here the top four would advance to the semi finals.  Again the fun scores to watch was the battle for fourth.  Mark was strong in the first four rounds but then fell off his game.  Chris B on the other hand was going nowhere fast but got a first and a third on the last to matches.  This caused a tie.  Since we had more than enough room on the two systems I decided to advance both of them rather than force a tie breaker.  So five would advance to the semi finals.

Even though it was close Scott was able to win in his map and Jessy's map.  Congrats to Scott and thanks to all who came out.
