Virtua Fighter 4 Tournament Wrap Up

The format for this tournament was as follows;  3 pools of players play everyone else in there pool.  The best winning record automatically advances to the finals.  The second best record goes to a wild card pool.  The third best would advance to the Last chance pool.  In the last chance pool only one would advance to the wild card pool.  In the wild card pool the top two would advance to the finals.   The winner would be determined by another round robin in the final pool.  Here are the results;

Pool 1

Pool 2

This one ended up in a three way tie.  In the tie breaker King III would beat both Dan and Jacob, and Jacob would beat Dan.  Had they tied again they all would have gone to the wild card pool, and the tie breaker records would count as their matches in the wild card pool.  (I.E.  They would not get to fight again unless they made it to the finals.)  

Pool 3

In this pool Pat, Jake and Jimmy all tied for the Wild card pool.  In this situation during their tie breaker they had the same results.  So I took the results of the tie breaker round an plugged them in to the last chance pool.  The then had to face off against the other two from the other pools. (See below in Last Chance Pool)

Last Chance 

Normally only the top record would advance from this pool.  However to to the tie in pool #3 an extra spot was available in the Wild Card pool.  In this case the top two advanced.  

Wildcard Pool 

This pool was pretty strait forward.   Jacob and Chris advanced to the finals 

Final Pool 

Once again we had a tie.  This time it was a three way tie for third.  King III went undefeated and Heath only loss to King III.  The remaining three all had 1/3 records.
