The format for this tournament was as follows;  5 pools of players play everyone else in there pool.  The best winning record automatically advances to the finals.  The second best record goes to a wild card pool.  In the wild card pool the top record will advance to the finals.   The winner would be determined by another round robin in the final pool.  Here are the results;

Pool 2

This pool featured long time rivals Action Set "Jake", and Dayne.   They play each other quite often and Dayne usually is the winner.  But when the pressure was on Action Set rose to the occasion.  In the excitement of the moment he went out side a yelled it out to the world "I BEAT DAYNE!"

Pool 3

This pool featured another long time rival Russ and Chris.  Russ, who has come close on several occasions to win a GH tournament, has never won one.  Chris on the other hand has won several.  Russ does not particularly care for those facts.  (Especially since it was Chris who prevented Russ from winning the GGX tourney the two weeks before.)  Russ came out with Bison and some other character that didn't matter since it was his Bison that totally destroyed the competition.  This would send Chris to the wild card.

Another interesting match was the Father Vs. Son match of Samurai and is father T.L.  This was a free for all slugfest as they hammered on each other until in the end when Samurai defeated T.L.

Final Pool

Matt really had some forces with him in the finals.  When he faced Bryce he was down to almost no life with his last character Ryu and Bryce had a full Yuri.  Then Matt pulled off a level 3 Shin Shroyuken and evened it up.  Then was able to finish him off.  Then as if that wasn't enough.  When he faced Chris they both had Ryu for there final character and Chris was in the lead by almost double Matt's life.  Then as time ran down Chris made the mistake of not sitting on his lead to gain the win.  With less than three seconds left he tried to finish Matt off but walked in to a level 3 Shin Shroyuken as time ran out.  Matt's devastating move was able to take Chris's life down by just (and I mean JUST) enough to win. As an observer I was stunned while I watched Chris's lead taken from him as time ran out.  While I question Chris's tactics I must give him credit for not taking the easy way out and sitting on his lead for an easy win.  I must also give credit to Matt for patiently waiting for the right opportunity to strike.  Some people would have panicked and rushed in out of desperation and most likely have lost as a result.

In any event Matt C defiantly had to earn his win as the competition gave him some really close matches.
