Dance Dance Revolution 4th Mix Tournament Wrap Up

This was by far one of the smallest turn outs for any Game Hits tournament, but it was also one of the most fun.   Basically each "Dancer" would get to pick three different songs to dance to.  Then there scores would be added together and the top two would have a "Duel of Dance".   Rev. Mofat, Carl, and Dayne were the odds on favorites to win.   Rev. Mofat had the best first round score, but then went for Maniac mode on his second choice.  This ended up back being a little too much for him as he wasn't able to break into the millions.   Then with the pressure on he was not able to produce in his third and final song.  Dayne however was able to rise to the occasion turning in the best round in the preliminaries to bring his score within 90,000 of Carlman.   Dayne and Carlman would go on to the final duel leaving the rest of the competition way behind by more than double the score of 3rd place. 

Duel of Dance 

In the final Dual of Dance Dayne and Carl would each pick a song and then they would both perform each song at the same time.  The first to go was Dayne.  He picked B4U, from his third and best round.   As they began to dance both would start out at the same pace.  They both were getting every step down.   The combo count climbed to 60, then 70 and even 80!   This was very exciting.    The person who made the first mistake would surely be the one to loose.  Then the excitement and anticipation continued to grow as the combo count broke 100!   Every one watched in total silence as the two continued to get closer to the end of the song.  I wondered who would be the first to miss a step? The count now was up to 120, then 130, then 140.    I was starting to worry for both competitors, since now after all this way one bad step would spell disaster. Then 160, 170 and even 180!  Nerves of steel for both of them as nether would break stride.  And then the finale of the song came, could they really do it, I wondered.  Then is was done.  188 EACH!!  Both of them pulled of a perfect round!!   For the 6,000,000+ scores each Carl would take a minor lead of 2,442.  By all accounts this was a tie.  Then it was Carl's turn to pick.  He went with Hero (Happy Grandale Mix)  After Dayne missed the first step they both went neck and neck agian!  They both had the combo count up to 90+ before Dayne would miss-step again.  But this wasn't a walk in the park for Carl either as he missed shortly there after.  In the end they both missed about 4 times and the score was really close.  Again Carl would edge out Dayne and take the tournament.  The exact score for the last song is not known since afterwards in all the excitement someone stepped on the pad.  We do know however that Carl had won by roughly  200,000 and what the scores were down to the 100,000s.
