Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 Tournament Wrap Up

Every once in a while we have a tournament that is based on individual performance rather than head to head competition.  Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is one of those tournaments.  Each person would have three single sessions to run on three different areas.  At the end of their three runs they would be allowed to re-do one of the areas.  Then the top four scores would advance to the finals.    We had a memory card with everything unlocked so any map was possible.   Skater's Heaven and the Chopper Drop were both banned, and the only character that was banned was Spider-man.  

In the prelims we went right down the list of nineteen people.  They were given the option of playing as many of the three rounds that they wanted.  A couple only played their first round.  Many more played their first two rounds.  Only a couple actually played right through. One of them who did play right through was Jacob (one of our writers.)  After he averaged over 300,000 for each of his maps, six of the participants didn't even bother to stick around to finish their other rounds.  This is unfortunate for them, because when I did the random drawings two of them would have won.  Oh well.  Here are the results of the prelims.   

In the finals the top four would go four more rounds.  They would each pick a map and the one who picked the map would be the one who would go first.  Russ was the only one who picked someplace other than the Hanger.  As it turned out this was a very good move as he was the only one who got over 100,000 in that map.  Here is how it went.
