DOA2 Tournament Wrap Up

The format for this tournament was as follows;  2 pools of players play everyone else in there pool.  The best 2 winning record automatically advances to the finals.  Then the third best records would fight it out for the final spot in the finals.

Pool 1

This was an interesting situation.  After the prelims Rob had to go.  This would leave three people with 2 wins for the third spot.  If we remove Rob's matches it narrows it to Jake and Heath.  It was decided that a tie breaker would decide who would go on to the finals.

Pool 2

There was a tie for second and since Rob left there would be no need for sudden death for the third place finishers.  Both Matt's would advance to the finals.

Final Pool 

Due to Jakes win over Matt C there would be a tie between the Matt's again.  This time they would have to battle it out for second place.  Matt C had beat Matt K in the prelims and in their match in the finals.  So it Matt C only had to beat Matt K again.  Unfortunately for Matt C,  Matt K much like the Borg had adapted and found a way to stop him. 

Congrats to Dayne for being the first person to repeat as a winner in the same game, and on being the first to out right win 3 tournaments.
