Pat & Adrian’s Greatest Game Hits

For our second experiment, we plucked an unused copy of Turok 2 from Pat’s small, small collection of N64 titles. We held a hypothesis that an N64 cart would be incredibly sturdy, after all, they are heavy and very solid feeling. Adrian lined up the Hammer of Truth© and swung with the precisely agreed upon amount of force, with the results you can see below. The cartridge held up nicely, with only a large crescent-shaped crack to bear witness to its ordeal. It even worked when we tested it at a later date (although Adrian once again consulted the Magic 8-Ball, this time asking "Should we have continued to pound this cartridge until it was naught but plastic dust?" The reply was an unequivocal "Yes." So far, however, the N64 looks to have the most solid cartridge of any game system ever made. Check back next time when we challenge the N64’s title by hitting a Genesis cart with the Hammer.
