Name: Carl Schafer

Occupation: Ummm.... Sitting around usually keeps me pretty occupied.

Systems Owned: Colecovision, NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Nintendo 64, Playstation, Playstation 2, Dreamcast

My first video game experience: Tarzan for Colecovision

Favorite games: (see below)

(Early 8 bit; before Nintendo and Sega): Tarzan, Defender, Donkey Kong, Centipede

(8 bit): Ninja Gaiden 2, Dragon Warrior, Double Dragon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman, Contra, Castlevania 2

(16 bit): Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, Saturday Night Slam Masters, Mortal Kombat 2, Street Fighter 2, Mario Paint, Altered Beast, Final Fantasy 3, Sonic and Knuckles, NHL ‘96 (Genesis), Triple Play ‘96 (Genesis)

(32-64 bit): Resident Evil 1-3, Final Fantasy 8, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Goldeneye 007, Parappa the Rapper, Castlevania: SOTN, Super Mario 64, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1/2, Fear Effect 1/2, WWF No Mercy, Metal Gear Solid, all sorts of those music games

(128 bit): Soul Calibur, Marvel vs. Capcom 1/2, Guilty Gear X, Space Channel 5, Grandia 2, Tokyo Xtreme Racer, Samba de Amigo, Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, Phantasy Star Online

(Uh never mind): Am I the only one who thinks Fuku-san Mags for PSO and the Shenmue-like “Dude, Where’s my Car?” game are good ideas?

Favorite style of game: Games that are fun

UN-liked style of game: Well, games that aren’t fun, I guess

Favorite movie(s): Star Wars, Jurassic Park, American Pie

Hobbies (other than video games): Drawing all sorts of neat pictures, reading comics, sleeping, and complaining about everything to anyone who will listen

.

Where I see video games 5 years from now: In mediocrity Hell, with Sony still on top

Odds and Ends: I like The Sims. My Game Hits neighborhood is funny because you have SimJake and SimDayne falling in love with each other, SimShawn likes to slap people, SimRuss lives in a dance club, and SimCarl is still too unsocial to find a real job. A lot like real life, isn’t it?
